Meet J. Brad Bergford

Attorney Brad Bergford handles litigation in the areas of First Amendment rights, probate, guardianship and conservatorship matters, employment law, commercial and private contracts, intentional torts, and property law. Brad joined Illumine Legal LLC in 2020 and leads the litigation team. He has handled matters on a variety of topics in Colorado trial courts and has practiced in the Colorado Court of Appeals. He practices in the areas of constitutional law and related federal law in the Federal District Court for the District of Colorado and in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Brad serves as president of the Colorado chapter of National Lawyers Association, as well as president of the Commission for the Protection of Constitutional Rights. Brad is also executive director of Go4Word, an organization that reaches high school students with the hope of Christ through regular fellowship and meals. Brad is an Allied Attorney and a Blackstone Fellow with Alliance Defending Freedom.
Brad is one of the few remaining Colorado natives, having been brought up in Boulder County. He and his wife have four grown children, two of whom are married. Brad and his wife love the Colorado outdoors. Brad loves fishing, hiking, sports of all types, and is an avid singer and pianist.
